Iori ist eine Schulfreundin von Gunzou und übernimmt die Rolle der Chefingenieurin an Bord der I-401. Das hat zwar zur Folge, dass sie sich fast ausschließlich im Maschinenraum, fernab von den anderen aufhält. Deswegen ist sie aber nicht aus der Welt und stets über die interne Kommunikation erreichbar. Auch wenn sie ein leicht burschikoses Auftreten an den Tag legt, so zeigt sie doch große Fürsorge für Ionas Wohlergehen. Wenn auch bei weitem nicht so extrem wie Hyuuga.
