Naru ist Usagis beste Freundin und geht in dieselbe Schulklasse wie sie. Sie macht sich oft Sorgen um Usagis Nachlässigkeit in der Schule, die in schlechten Noten resultiert. Naru selbst ist eine gute Schülerin und außerdem ehrgeizig, zudem stammt sie aus einer wohlhabenden Familie, der ein Juwelierladen gehört.

Neben ihr und Usagi gehören noch Yumiko und Kuri zu der Clique aus vier Freundinnen, die häufig miteinander ihre Zeit verbringen, sei es in den Schulpausen oder nach dem Unterricht.
