Kokones Mutter führt zusammen mit ihrem Mann das Süßwarengeschäft „Chataigne“ (frz. für Haselnuss). In Kobe haben sie es zu großer Bekanntheit gebracht und expandieren nun auch über die Grenzen hinaus, da sich ihr guter Ruf bereits weiter verbreitet hat. Ihre Spezialität sind diverse Gebäcksorten mit Haselnüssen.

Auf Kokones Mutter geht sowohl der Wahlspruch ihrer Tochter zurück, als auch ihre Schwärmerei für Shun Yotsuba, das ehemalige Idol, das nun an der Starlight Academy als Chefkoch arbeitet.
