Sane lebt im gleichen Dorf wie Saishu und ist nicht nur ein guter Freund von diesem, sondern Saishu zieht sogar in Betracht ihn als seinen Nachfolger einzusetzen, weswegen er auch schon eifrig von diesem lernt - die Erwägung neuer Hauptpriester zu werden, verdankt er der Tatsache, dass er genauso wie Saishu Dinge sieht, die außer ihnen kein anderer sieht. Mit den ungewöhnlichen Ereignissen, die im Dorf geschehen, hat er sich allerdings schon abgefunden, obwohl er jetzt große Angst um den Verbleib seiner Mutter hat.
