Ryou ist die Sängerin von ZLAY. Sie ist eine stolze Yuri-Liebhaberin und behauptet, wenn ihr eine Frau begegnet, dass sie sofort erkennen kann, wer das Objekt ihrer Begierde ist und dass sie Emotionen von Menschen durch ihre „Aura“ identifizieren kann, dabei wirkt sie gelegentlich ein wenig anmaßend und unverschämt.

Ryou hat die Angewohnheit immer plötzlich und zufällig aufzutauchen und andere Charaktere unvorbereitet bei irgendwas zu „erwischen“, wonach sie ungefragt willkürliche und planlose Ratschläge gibt.

Die Visual-Kei-Band ZLAY ist eine Parodie der realen japanischen Band GLAY. Der Titel des Mangas, Strawberry Shake, geht zurück auf den ursprünglich im Manga verwendeten Namen für ZLAY und ist der Titel eines Liedes der Band GLAY.
