Hayato Daimon ist Kommandierender Offizier von VESPER und damit Nachfolger von Sugurus verstorbenem Vater Ryou Misato. Er ist ein disziplinierter, aber auch sehr fürsorglicher Mensch, der trotz seiner politischen und militärischen Verantwortung stets das Wohl seiner Mitarbeiter im Auge hat. Mahoro liegt ihm besonders am Herzen und er gewährt ihr jede Unterstützung, die ihm möglich ist (so hat Mahoro dank ihm auch weiterhin Zugriff auf ihr gesamtes Equipment obwohl sie sich ja im Ruhestand befindet).
