Hofa hatte noch nicht viel Zeit, um ihre Verlobung auskosten zu können und soll nun als Opfer für einen Yokai dienen. Vor dieser Entscheidung des Dorfrates hat sie große Angst, vor allem da sie keine Ahnung hat, was sie erwartet. Wird sie diesem finsteren Yokai, der ihr Dorf bedroht, als Frau dienen oder zu seinem Futter werden? Doch um die restlichen Dorfbewohner vor dem sicheren Tod zu bewahren, verdrängt sie ihre Angst, fügt sich ihrem Schicksal und sieht ihm tapfer entgegen.
