Als führendes Mitglied der Geheimorganisation Walsingham arbeitet Van Hellsing auch eng mit M, dem Leiter der Organisation, zusammen. 20 Jahre vor den Ereignissen um John Watson gelang es Van Hellsing, das Königreich des Einen, für das damals Transsilvanien stand, zu zerstören – seitdem wird er „Vampirjäger“ genannt. Noch heute ist er unermüdlich auf der Jagd nach dem Einen.
