Araki Mataemon ist einer der fähigen Kenjutsu-Meister, der am Turnier des Shogun, Tokugawa Iemitsu, teilnimmt. Er vertritt die Araki-Ryu Schule und kämpft den dritten Kampf gegen Miyamoto Iori.

Zusatzinformation:
Die gleichnamige historische Vorlage wurde 1599 geboren und war ein Schüler im Yagyu Dojo, wo er unter Yagyu Munenori den Shinkage-Ryu erlernte und später, mit der Erlaubnis von Jubei, den Namen Yagyu annahm.
