Ailak kommt zum selben Zeitpunkt wie Zoushi und Kidd zum Team Gurren und hängt auch meist mit den Beiden zusammen. Er ist der Unauffälligste des Trios, der nach außen ein wenig eitel und eingebildet wirkt, aber auch nur wenig mit den anderen Crewmitgliedern außer seinen beiden Freunden interagiert. Für kurze Zeit bildet er ein Team mit Yoko, indem er ihr mit seinem Gunmen als beweglicher Geschützstand dient und sie auf dem Schlachtfeld überall dort hin transportiert, wo ihre Treffsicherheit benötigt wird. Für diese Aufgabe ist er sehr geeignet, da er nicht so ein Heißsporn ist wie viele andere, sondern auch auf dem Pilotensitz kühl und sachlich bleibt.
