Sakura war früher sehr krank, weil unzählige Geister von ihrem Körper lebten, doch nachdem sie Ataru begegnete und sogleich versuchte seine üble Persönlichkeit zu exorzieren, gingen alle Geister auf ihn über. Wieder völlig gesund begann sie damit, neben ihrer Tätigkeit als Miko (Shinto-Priesterin), in Atarus Schule als Krankenschwester zu arbeiten. Als trainierte Miko hat sie einen sechsten Sinn und kann verschiedene Kreaturen beschwören.
