Durch einen tragischen Vorfall in seiner Vergangenheit fiel Keith Kazama Flick in eine Depression und beendete seine Tätigkeit als polizeilicher Ermittler. Dort galt er als ermittlungstaktisches Genie: Er kann genaue Handlungsporträts seiner Gegner berechnen und zukünftige Schritte voraussagen. Durch seine eher eigensinnige und jähzornige Art ist er häufig alleine unterwegs, was nicht gerade für Begeisterung bei seinen Kollegen sorgt – insbesondere bei Lily Hoshina nicht. Später kehrt er in den Polizeidienst zurück, um Killer B zu jagen.
