Zaratras ist der Vater von Gilthunder und Halbbruder von Dreyfus.
Er zählte zu den wohl stärksten heiligen Rittern Liones, bevor er am Tag des vermeintlichen Verrats der Seven Deadly Sins tot aufgefunden wurde. Es wurde behauptet die Sieben Todsünden hätten ihn getötet, was Meliodas später jedoch klar abstreitet.
Genau wie Hendrickson gehört er zum Druiden-Clan, was man wegen seinen silbernen Haaren, die häufiger in diesem Clan vorkommen, bereits vermuten kann.
Zaratras Kleidung bestand zu Lebzeiten aus einer goldfarbenen Ganzkörperrüstung und einer Art türkisem Umhang.
