Urara begegnet Suguru, als er sie in einem Bachbett nach etwas suchen sieht - sie hat einen Anhänger von der Brücke fallen lassen, der ein wichtiges Erinnerungsstück für sie ist. Da Suguru das Stück auch tatsächlich findet, ist sie ihm unendlich dankbar. Als sich herausstellt, dass er eine Wohnung in dem Gebäude des Nachtclubs Scarab beziehen soll, dank der Schusseligkeit seines Onkels, dem Vermieter, aber gar kein Apartment frei ist, lässt sie ihn bereitwillig bei sich einziehen, da sie ihn für einen guten Menschen hält.

Urara ist ein sehr optimistisches, vertrauensseliges, und dahingehend auch ziemlich naives Mädchen. Da sie als Kind im Waisenhaus lebte, hat sie außerdem große Angst davor, ihr Leben alleine verbringen zu müssen und fühlt sich deswegen umso mehr zu Suguru hingezogen, nicht unbedingt körperlich, denn in dieser Hinsicht ist sie etwas schüchtern.
