Rio ist ein unscheinbares Mädchen aus Natsurus Schulklasse, sie fällt nur durch ihre überdurchschnittliche Körpergröße auf. Alles was sich Rio wünscht, ist nur eine ganz normale Schülerin zu sein und eine glückliche Familie zu haben. Dies alles ist ihr aber nicht gegönnt. Mit ihrem Bruder lebt sie in einem einfachem Wohnhaus. Keiner bemerkt, dass sie hier alleine wohnen. Ihr Vater ist in Alaska als Fischer unterwegs und ihre Mutter ist vor einiger Zeit abgehauen. Rio kann es kaum erwarten, dass ihr Vater zum Matsuri-Fest wieder kommen wird. So lange versucht sie sich mit dem hinterlassenden Geld von ihrem Vater durchzuschlagen. Als Natsuru in ihr Leben tritt und einige Zeit mit ihr verbringt, werden bei ihr Liebesgefühle geweckt.

Nach dem Finale der Geschichte, kommt sie mit ihrem Bruder in einer anderen Stadt in einem Heim unter. Auch wenn sie sich davor gefürchtet hat, ergeht es den beiden hier besser als in ihrer vorherigen Situation.
