Hayate ist einer der Leafe Knights, er ist der Ritter des Windes. Hayate ist anfangs Himeno gegenüber feindlich eingestellt und weigert sich, sie aufgrund einer früheren Erfahrung, als neue Prétear anzuerkennen. Allmählich beginnt Hayate Himeno als Prétear zu akzeptieren und geht so weit sie zu beschützen, als er einen Job auf dem Anwesen ihrer Familie bekommt und für ihren Vater arbeitet.
