Tsubasas größter Traum ist es, der beste Fußballer der Welt zu werden. Als Kapitän will er die japanische Nationalmannschaft zum Weltmeistertitel führen. In seiner Jugend spielt er beim FC Nankatsu, danach in Brasilien unter seinem ehemaligen Trainer Roberto Houngou und später dann in Spanien beim FC Brancos. Er hat zudem eine besondere Schusstechnik, die er »Top-Spin« nennt.
