Enomoto Takeaki ist der Admiral der Marine und kämpft auf der Seite des Shogunat gegen die neue Regierung des Kaisers.
Obwohl er Hijikata Toshizou sehr respektiert, kann Enomoto dessen eigenwilliges Handeln im Kampf nicht ausstehen und kommt nur schwer mit diesem zurecht.
