Shougo geht mit Ritsuka in eine Klasse und spielt zusammen mit ihm und Ryou in der Mittagspause Basketball. Er ist ein lieber und verständnisvoller Mensch, der Ritsuka keinen Vorwurf macht, wenn er lieber schläft oder Zeit mit Mafuyu verbringt und deshalb das Basketballspielen sausen lässt. Im Gegenteil: Er ist ein sehr fürsorglicher Mensch. Er ist derjenige, der Mafuyu dazu einlädt, mitzuspielen, wodurch Mafuyu erkennt, dass er nicht alleine ist und sogar Spaß dabei hat. Mit seiner immer freundlichen und offenen Art nimmt er Mafuyu sofort in die Freundesgruppe auf, indem er ihm sagt, dass er jederzeit zum Basketballspielen kommen kann und er sogar seinen Auftritt sehen möchte.

Basketball ist ihm sehr wichtig und er zeigt viel Ehrgeiz, da er bei einem Turnier unbedingt gewinnen will. Er versucht immer wieder, Ritsuka und die anderen zu motivieren, obwohl er selbst im Fußball-Club ist.
