Momoki Funetaro ist der Leiter der Ermittlungsabteilung der Organisation „Kura“. Früher arbeitete er mit Narihisago Akihito zusammen, bevor dieser eingesperrt wurde. Während es der Serienmörder „Challenger“ auf Asukai Kiki abgesehen hatte, wurde diese von Funetaro gerettet. Kiki verschwand daraufhin jedoch, was ihn dazu trieb, ihr Verschwinden genauer unter die Lupe zu nehmen.

Zu einem bestimmten Punkt in der Geschichte wurde er verhaftet, weil er beschuldigt wurde, der Verbrecher John Walker zu sein.
