Shogo Kawashima ist ein Englischprofessor an einer Universität und der Verlobte von Yoko Akimoto, der Mutter von Haru Nonaka. Er studierte an derselben Universität wie diese und begegnete ihr abermals bei einem Wiedersehenstreffen des Reiseklubs im vorigen Jahr. Seine Frau starb vor zehn Jahren.
