Bevor sich Michiru Kagemori in einen Tiermenschen verwandelte, war sie eine normale Oberschülerin. Allerdings verwandelte sie sich dann in eine Tanuki und musste deshalb vor der Anti-Tiermenschen-Bewegung fliehen. Dafür begibt sie sich nach Anima-City – eine Stadt speziell für Tiermenschen. Dort hofft sie, eine Lösung für ihr Problem zu finden und wieder ein Mensch zu werden. Sie trifft auf den Wolfsmenschen Shirou Oogami, der fortan für sie als eine Art Beschützer fungiert.
