Die Gear sind eine Kämpferrasse, welche die Kraft besitzt, es mit den menschenfeindlichen Gadoll aufzunehmen. Diese gründeten das Anti-Gadoll-Korps The Power, um gegen diese Monster zu kämpfen. Während es ganze 50.000 Gear bei The Power gibt, findet man dort nur lediglich 200 Tanker. Diese haben normalerweise die Aufgabe, die Gear zu unterstützen. Nur die stärksten Tanker können The Power beitreten.

Bekannte Gear:
In Wahrheit sind die Gear die Avatare von Androiden, welche zu den neuen Herrschern des Planeten geworden sind. Die Gadoll sind von diesen künstlich erschaffene Wesen, gegen die sie in der riesigen Unterhaltungseinrichtung Deca-Dence kämpfen. Die Tanker sind die wenigen noch übrig gebliebenen Menschen, die nichts von alldem wissen.
