Vooekisal ist ein hoher Priester und sowas wie der Stadtführer in der antiken Stadt, in der Ruruta Coozancoona vor hunderten Jahren lebte. Da der Welt durch die Macht der Bestien des letzten Kapitels der endgültige Untergang droht, unterstützt er mit allen erdenklichen Mitteln Rurutas Macht, auf dem alle Hoffnungen der alten Welt ruhen. So offeriert er ihm unzählige Lebensbücher mächtiger Krieger und Zauberer, damit Rurutas Kraft steigt. Doch insgeheim schmiedet er finstere, egoistische Pläne.
