Torakuma ist einer der fünf Brüder, die den Marukuma-Klan anführen. Jeder von ihnen hat dutzende bis hunderte Untergebene. Als Oni-Kemono lieben sie Menschenfleisch. Ihr Unternehmen »Marukuma-Pfandhaus«, das in Yokosuka in der Präfektur Kanagawa liegt und nach außen hin wie ein gewöhnliches Pfandhaus wirkt, benutzen sie, um dort menschliche Leichen zu scharen. Sie besitzen keinerlei Skrupel und zünden aus Langeweile Gebäude an. Sogar Krankenhäuser sind vor ihnen nicht sicher.

Als eines Tages Nobimaru vor ihrer Tür stand, konnten sie nicht ahnen, dass dieser den Zerfall ihres Klans und ihres Unternehmens einläuten würde. Er wurde von Youko Inari geschickt, weil diese ein Monopol auf Menschenfleisch haben wollte. Die Oni waren keine ebenbürtigen Gegner für ihn.
