Lantis war ehemals ein Tochterunternehmen der Bandai Namco Holdings Inc., das am 26. November 1999 gegründet wurde. Das Unternehmen wurde im Mai 2006 von BANDAI VISUAL Co., Ltd. (jetzt BANDAI NAMCO Arts. Inc.) aufgekauft und in ein Tochterunternehmen umgewandelt. Seit der Fusion von BANDAI VISUAL Co., Ltd. mit NAMCO Limited, war es ein Tochterunternehmen der Bandai Namco Holdings Inc.

Am 1. April 2018 fusionierte Lantis mit BANDAI VISUAL Co., Ltd., wobei letzteres bestehen blieb und seinen heutigen Namen bekam. Dabei wurde Lantis zu einem Label des daraus entstehenden Unternehmens umfunktioniert. Der Schwerpunkt des Labels liegt auf der Produktion von Musik- und Sprachaufnahmen für Animes und Computerspiele.
