Universal Pictures Switzerland GmbH ist ein Tochterunternehmen der Universal Studios International B.V. welches wiederum zum amerkanischen Medienkonzern NBC Universal gehört.

Das Unternehmen wurde 1984 als Monopole Pathé Films SA gegründet. Im Mai 1999 erfolgte die Umbenennung in Universal Pictures Switzerland AG. Im Zuge einer Umstrukturierung erfolgte schließlich im November 2002 die Umbenennung in den heutigen Namen Universal Pictures Switzerland GmbH.
