Ellation, Inc. is an American company founded in August 2015. Its headquarters are located in San Francisco, California. The company maintains the video streaming portals Crunchyroll and VRV.

The company was founded as a subsidiary of Otter Media and Crunchyroll was outsourced into this company. Later followed VRV, having its debut in 2016. In august 2018, the production studio Ellation Studios was founded, having offices in America and Japan. The purpose of the studio is to produce original content for Crunchyroll and VRV.

On the 9th December 2020, Sony Pictures Entertainent Inc. announced that Ellation has been bought for U.S. $1.175 billion. The antitrust division approved the deal and it was completed on the 9th August 2021. With it, Ellation, Inc. turned into a subsidiary of Funimation Global Group, LLC.

August 2021 abgeschlossen werden konnte. Dabei wurde Ellation, Inc. zum Tochterunternehmen von Funimation Global Group, LLC.
