Sawako Kuronuma ist ein 15-jähriges Mädchen, das schon immer missverstanden und gefürchtet wurde. Schon immer wurde sie von ihren Mitschülern aufgrund ihres Auftretens und Aussehens einfach nur »Sadako« genannt (Charakter aus The Ring). Es gehen sogar Gerüchte um, dass sie Geister sehen und Menschen verfluchen könne.

Doch das alles änderte sich durch Kazehaya, einem freundlichen und bei den Mitschülern beliebten Jungen. Er ist der erste, der mit ihr spricht und nach und nach gewinnt sie immer mehr Selbstvertrauen. Sie nimmt sich daraufhin vor so zu werden wie er.
