Die lebensfrohe High School Schülerin Marika verbringt ihre Freizeit im Weltraum-Yachtclub und mit ihrem Teilzeitjob in einem vornehmen Retro-Café. Eines Tages tauchen eine Frau und ein Mann bei ihr auf, die sich als Untergebene ihres Vaters ausgeben und ihr eröffnen, dass sie gemäß der Nachfolgeregelung dazu bestimmt ist das Kommando des Weltraumpiratenschiffs Bentenmaru zu übernehmen. Von dieser Neuigkeit überfordert, bleibt Marika jedoch keine Zeit sich über die Folgen und Möglichkeiten dieser Neuigkeit klar zu werden, denn schon bald zeigen sich die ersten unangenehmen Folgen ihrer neuen, ihr vorherbestimmten Position.
