»Code Geass: Soubou no Oz« spielt zwischen der ersten und zweiten Staffel der Hauptserie »Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch«.

Auch wenn die Rebellion der Schwarzen Ritter mit dem mutmaßlichen Tod von Zero in einem Fehlschlag endete, blieben die Aufständischen ein Symbol des Widerstandes. Der Terror in den von Britannia besetzten Gebieten nahm stetig zu und läutete erneut eine unruhige Zeit ein.

Im Königreich Britannia selbst setzt man auf die Macht des Militärs, um schon kleinste Anzeichen von Rebellion niederzuschlagen. Um aber den Widerstand auch in allen anderen Teilen der Welt zu brechen, rückt Prinzessin Marrybell mel Britannia mit ihrer Anti-Terror-Einheit Glinda Knights aus. Doch dann trifft sie irgendwo im Mittleren Westen auf einen Jungen, der mit „Oz“ nicht nur denselben Decknamen trägt, sondern dessen Gesicht dem ihrem auch unerklärlich stark ähnelt …
