A volte la polizia brancola nel buio, incapace dare una risposta razionale ad alcuni delitti. Perciò, a volte, è necessario cercare le risposte nel campo dell’irrazionale, o quanto meno in tutto ciò che viene ritenuto tale comunemente. Nel corso dei secoli le creature leggendarie del folclore e della mitologia giapponese si sono mescolate agli esseri umani, e hanno imparato a vivere tra loro, quasi clandestinamente, cercando di non farsi notare. Ma anche tra oni, tengu, kappa, tanuki e altri ‘yokai’ ci sono efferati criminali: è proprio in questi casi che interviene Kyoko Karasuma del Dipartimento di Polizia di Asakusa, esperta di creature leggendarie del folclore e della mitologia giapponese, nonché del loro modus operandi.
