Populär und inmitten einer Gruppe guter Freundinnen, mit denen man über Mode, Lifestyle und sonstige Dinge reden kann, die eine normale Jugendliche in ihren Augen interessieren. So hat Shinozaki Akina ihre Mittelschulzeit verbracht und so wollte sie es für sich auch in der High School. Doch das Schicksal hat anderes für sie vorgesehen. Anstatt in der ersten Schulwoche neue Freundinnen zu finden, lag sie krank im Bett und als sie endlich ihr Debüt in der Schule macht, haben sich bereits die Gruppen gebildet und sie findet keinen Anschluss mehr. In ihrer Not wendet sich Shinozaki ihrer Sitznachbarin Sasamura Kaede zu, einem Otaku, in dem sie aber das Potential für eine Schulschönheit erkennt. Doch um sie nach ihren Vorstellungen dazu zu formen, muss Shinozaki ihr erst einmal näher kommen, was nur über die ihr verhasste Otaku-Kultur funktioniert.
