Description

The ever-peaceful land of Piril seems almost like a dream: harmony and peace are the order of the day, and strife is practically a foreign word. This is ensured by Marie, a flying mechanical woman whose special sounds calm the land’s inhabitants day in and day out, to the point where they practically worship her. On one of the islands that make up Piril is Gil, the city of workshops, where practically everyone works on and with mechanical things or invents them, and even mechanical animals can be seen.

The young man Kai is one of the inhabitants and lives with Gajiji, the best tinkerer in town. Kai once worked for him until he could earn his own living. Because of his brilliant hearing, he can detect water sources and ore deposits – an ability that has earned him quite a reputation on the island. Thanks to his hearing, he is also the only one who can perceive Marie’s wondrous “music”. His childhood friend Pipi, Gajiji’s daughter, is not exactly pleased about this, as she would rather have the attention of her secret crush to herself. Kai, on the other hand, seems to have visions through Marie’s eyes and hears a voice that practically calls him a chosen one. What experiences might await Kai in this peaceful and mostly uneventful world?
