Kureha Tsubaki ist eine schüchterne und zurückgezogene Schülerin; sie hat einen immer wiederkehrenden Traum, in dem sie von einer Bären-Prinzessin gerettet wird. Zufällig sieht die Bären-Prinzessin aus ihrem Traum exakt so aus wie ihre äußerst beliebte Mitschülerin Ginko Yurishiro. Ginko findet Gefallen an Kureha und beginnt, eine Freundschaft zu ihr aufzubauen und diese zu vertiefen.

Kureha konfrontiert Ginko mit ihrem vermeintlichen Wissen darüber, dass sie weiß, dass Ginko ein Bär ist und dem tragischen Schicksal ihres Planeten, doch ihre Reaktion fällt anders aus als von Kureha erwartet: Ginko verfällt in schallendes Gelächter aufgrund dieser absurden Geschichte.

Als eine neue Mitschülerin, Lulu Yurigasaki, die ihre Gefühle für Ginko offen zur Schau stellt, an die Arashigaoka Gakuen transferiert wird, gerät Kureha in emotionale Nöte.

Anmerkung:
Die Manga-Adaption des gleichnamigen Anime Yuri Bear Storm hat eine komplett andere Handlung als die Anime-Serie; lediglich die darin vorkommenden Figuren sind enthalten, werden aber zum Teil völlig anders charakterisiert.
