Der 22-jährige Yuuji Miza ist ein buddhistischer Priester des Uguisuzaka-Geschäftsviertels. Bei den Bewohnern dieses Viertels ist der junge Priester vor allem wegen seines guten Aussehens und seiner freundlichen Art sehr beliebt. Vielen ist es ein Rätsel, warum Yuuji noch single ist und jegliche Liebeserklärungen ablehnt. Yuuji selbst beruft sich dabei auf seinen geleisteten Zölibatsschwur. In Wahrheit ist er aber schon seit der Mittelschule hoffnungslos in seinen besten Freund Saburou verliebt. Saburou kehrt nach 8-jähriger Abwesenheit nach Uguisuzaka zurück, um das Tofu-Geschäft seiner Eltern zu übernehmen. Die Rückkehr Saburous bringt Yuujis Gefühlswelt aufs Neue völlig durcheinander.

Auch Yuujis älter Bruder, Kenji, erhält eine plötzliche Liebeserklärung von dem tollpatschigen Yoshito, dem Sohn des Eigentümers einer Reinigungsfirma. Allerdings nimmt Kenji die Liebeserklärung nicht ernst und macht sich über Yoshito lustig. Wird Yoshito Kenji von seinen Gefühlen überzeugen können?
