A Promise of Romance (2001)

Edward, an English nobleman, is every bit the handsome prince, except he doesn’t have a damsel in distress. Under the suggestion of a friend, Edward and Satsuki enter into a contract: Satsuki would cross-dress and enter a sham marriage with Edward. In exchange, Edward pays him for his acting services, shut his snooty relatives up and keep the family fortune. Everybody happy. Except for one thing… what happens when they actually fall in love?

Satsuki ist nach England gegangen, um dort Schauspielerei zu studieren. Aber er braucht Geld, um seine Rechnungen zu bezahlen. Da kommt ihm das Angebot eines gutaussehenden Grafen namens Edward gerade Recht. Der Graf gibt Satsuki Geld, wenn dieser als Gegenleistung dafür mit ihm eine gefakte Ehe eingeht. Edward würde nämlich einen Großteil seines Vermögens verlieren, wenn er nicht bis zu seinem nächsten Geburtstag heiratet. Nach anfänglichen Schwierigkeiten kommen sich die beiden näher, doch ein Missverständnis führt dazu, dass Edward eifersüchtig wird und Satsuki mit Gewalt an sich binden will.
