Kieli ist ein 14 jähriges Mädchen, das Geister sehen kann und keine menschlichen Freunde hat. Sie lebt in einem Internat und teilt sich mit ihrer Geisterfreundin ein Zimmer, bis sie den unsterblichen Harvey trifft. Da er regungslos auf der Bank sitzt und im Gegensatz zu Menschen auch keine Aura hat, vermutet Kieli anfangs, dass er tot sei. Harvey war früher Soldat und ist genau wie Kieli in der Lage Geister zu sehen. Er wird aufgrund seiner Unsterblichkeit gejagt und ist daher auf der ständigen Flucht. So entschließt sich Kieli dem unsterblichen Harvey und einem Kommandanten, der in einem Radio steckt und nicht mehr ohne Hilfe rauskommt, auf ihrer Reise zu begleiten, um dem Kommandanten seinen Frieden zu bringen.
