Obwohl man anders denken könnte, ist Odette in Wirklichkeit eine von Dr. Yoshizawa erschaffene Androidin. Angeregt durch eine Fernsehsendung beschließt sie inkognito die Oberschule zu besuchen, um die Unterschiede zwischen ihr und den Menschen herauszufinden. In der Schule muss sie schnell erkennen, dass Menschen viele Eigenschaften und Emotionen besitzen, die ihr selbst unbekannt sind bzw. fehlen, was sie mit viel Lernwillen und technisches Nachrüsten ihres Körpers auszugleichen versucht. So beginnt Odettes Weg hin zu mehr Menschlichkeit, der gespickt mit viel ihr Unverständlichem ist und auf dem sie stets darauf achten muss, sich nicht durch ihre Robotereigenschaften, wie ihre übermenschliche Stärke, zu verraten.
