If It’s for My Daughter, I’d Even Defeat a Demon Lord (2016)

Dale Reki is known as an uncompromising assassin who shows no mercy to his opponents. At just 18 years of age, he not only has considerable strength but has also built up a reputation for himself thanks to the countless jobs he has completed. However, his dreary disposition and attitude of seeing the world as a less-than-pleasant place change fundamentally when he meets a little demon girl, Latina, in the middle of the forest during one of his many monster hunts.

Latina, however, has lost both horns and is therefore considered a criminal in her world and cannot go back. The usually tough Dale takes pity on the girl and takes her to the inn of his closest friends, Rita and Kenneth Krueger, where he also usually lives. Actually, Dale is not at all suitable as a family father because of his many journeys, but when Latina shows more and more affection after her recovery, he finally can’t help but adopt her. From then on, the two are a family and find a lot of support in their environment, but can the coexistence between humans and demons work in the long run?

Dale Reki gilt als kompromissloser Attentäter, der seinen Gegner keine Gnade gewährt. Mit gerade einmal 18 Jahren verfügt er nicht nur über beträchtliche Stärke, er hat sich dank zahlloser abgeschlossener Aufträge einen ziemlichen Ruf erarbeitet. Sein tristes Gemüt und seine Einstellung, die Welt als nur wenig erfreulichen Ort zu betrachten, sollen sich allerdings grundsätzlich ändern, als er mitten im Wald, während einer seiner vielen Monsterjagden, auf einen kleines Dämonenmädchen trifft – auf Latina.

Latina hat allerdings beide Hörner eingebüßt, gilt in ihrer Welt demnach als Verbrecherin und kann somit nicht mehr zurück. Der sonst so hart wirkende Dale erbarmt sich und nimmt die Kleine mit ins Gasthaus seiner engsten Freunde Rita und Kenneth Krueger, wo auch er für gewöhnlich wohnt. Eigentlich ist Dale aufgrund seiner vielen Reisen so gar nicht als Familienvater geeignet, aber als Latina nach ihrer Genesung immer mehr Zuneigung zeigt, kann er letztendlich nicht anders, als sie zu adoptieren. Fortan sind die beiden eine Familie und finden in ihrem Umfeld viel Unterstützung, doch kann das Zusammenleben zwischen Mensch und Dämon auch auf Dauer funktionieren?
