Wei Wei ist am Boden zerstört, als ihr geliebter Bruder Xian ihr veröffentlicht, dass er in drei Monaten heiraten wird. Vor zwei Jahren wurde sie in die Familie Mortier Marquis aufgenommen, nachdem ihre Mutter verstarb und sie komplett auf sich alleine gestellt war. Seitdem verwöhnt Xian die junge Wei Wei, die vor allem Artefakte liebt und ihre Studien auch in diese Richtung richtete.

Zu ihrem 17. Geburtstag hat Xian ihr ein noch gut erhaltenes Totenbuch sowie ein ganz besonderes Armband mitgebracht, das einst Ramses II. seiner berühmt-geliebten Frau Nefertari geschenkt haben soll. Genau dieses aktiviert sich plötzlich und Wei Wei landet mitten in der Wüste, zur Zeit des alten Ägyptens, genau in der Herrscherzeit von Ramses II.

Wei Wei möchte nichts Anderes, als wieder nach Hause zu ihrem Bruder, doch sie sitzt in der Vergangenheit fest. Zudem hat der Sohn des Pharaos ein ungesundes Interesse an ihr entwickelt …
