Yukino ist das »Strebermädchen« Nr. 1 auf ihrer Schule. Schlau und beliebt, kann man meinen, dass Yukino ein tolles Mädchen ist. Doch das ist alles Fassade. Sie kann es nicht ausstehen »hinten« dran zu sein und hat Angst unbeliebt und einsam zu sein, wenn sie nicht das ist, was sie allen vorgibt. Eines Tages taucht Arima in der Schule auf und setzt sich ebenfalls an die Schulspitze. Das stößt Yukino natürlich sauer auf und sie versucht ihn zu demütigen wo sie nur kann. Doch der Schuss geht nach hinten los: Als Arima bei ihr zu Hause etwas abgeben will, sieht er sie das 1. Mal in ihrer »Alltagskleidung«. Das wäre doch ideal für die »Quatschbörse« der Schule. Daher erpresst er sie, seine Hausaufgaben zu erledigen, damit er Stillschweigen bewahrt. Damit verletzt er sie zu tiefst und ist sich jedoch ziemlich unsicher in seinem Verhalten. Es kommt wie es kommen musste. Beide haben eine Aussprache nach der Schule und kommen sich dabei näher. Der Beginn einer großen Liebe?

Yukino es la típica vanity queen de instituto: la más guapa, la más estudiosa, la más popular...
