Ein Shinigami (»Todesgott«) in der Lehre namens Risky sollte eigentlich der zur Zeit sehr tieftraurigen Moe das Leben nehmen, was nur möglich ist, wenn sie so depressiv bleibt. Risky teilt sich jedoch den Körper gleichzeitig mit dem Engel Safety (ebenfalls in der Lehre), die versucht Moe aufzumuntern. Je nach Stimmung von Moe bzw. der Leute in der Umgebung befindet sich Risky oder Safety in Kontrolle. Und beide sind alles andere als geschickt in ihrer Aufgabe.
