Die Straße ist Lava – so lautet die einzige Regel seines Spiels. Also balanciert Oberschüler Yuki jeden Tag auf der schmalen, weißen Straßenmarkierung. Als ihm eines Tages Akira, auf derselben Linie balancierend, entgegenkommt, stehen die beiden Jungs vor einer Herausforderung, die sie nur zusammen lösen können. Kurzerhand packt Akira Yuki wie zum Walzer und mit einer fixen Drehung haben sie die Seiten getauscht. Die beiden könnten nun weiter ihrer Wege gehen, doch vor ihnen liegt ein ganzes gemeinsames Leben!

Il serissimo Ito e l’ingenuo Nishi si conoscono per caso mentre, di ritorno da scuola, giocano ognuno per conto proprio a «camminare sulla linea bianca». Ben presto, Ito sente sbocciare dentro di sé un sentimento che va oltre la semplice amicizia e, incapace di restare fermo ad aspettare quel loro «appuntamento segreto sulla linea», un giorno si lascia andare e bacia Nishi … Da quel momento, i due ragazzi inizieranno un percorso di crescita che da liceali li vedrà diventare studenti universitari e poi uomini adulti, alla ricerca del loro posto nella società.
