Umimachi Diary (2007)

Yoshino is the middle of three sisters who live in Kamakura. One morning, after she wakes up in a man’s room, her father’s obituary is delivered to her. Yoshino hadn’t met her father in a long time, since her mother divorced him. After not seeing him for so long, she doesn’t know how to feel at the announcement of his death. Only at her father’s funeral do the sisters meet their younger half-sister Suzu whom they had never met before.

Die Kohdaschwestern haben seit der Scheidung ihrer Eltern vor fünfzehn Jahren nichts von ihrem Vater gehört. Nun erhalten sie einen Brief, indem von dessen Tod berichtet wird. Obwohl sich Yoshino, die jüngste der Schwestern, unsicher über ihre Gefühlslage ist, besucht sie die Beerdigung ihres Vaters. Dort trifft sie auf ihre Halbschwester Suzu.

Alle tre sorelle Koda, un giorno, arriva la notizia della morte del padre. La loro reazione, all’inizio, è pressoché apatica: in fondo lui aveva un’altra famiglia, con la quale viveva in una località termale lontana dalla loro città. Al funerale, però, ritrovano l’affetto per quell’uomo buono, amato da tutti, di cui in effetti sanno poco... E non è l’unica sorpresa a cui vanno incontro: si legano infatti a Suzu, la figlia del padre e della nuova moglie, che finisce per accettare l’invito di Sachi, la maggiore delle tre sorelle, a trasferirsi a vivere con loro!
