Seit vielen Jahrzehnten war der Dämon Blut in einer Höhle gefangen. Er kann von dort nicht entkommen, es sei denn, er würde den »Tränen-Juwel« besitzen. Eines Tages aber taucht plötzlich ein sehr kranker Junge namens Ishuca dort auf, denn er möchte sterben. Bluts Tränen berühren Ishucas toten Körper und beleben ihn wieder. Es stellt sich heraus, dass sich seine Tränen in den Tränen-Juwel verwandelt haben. So beginnen die beiden zusammen eine Reise, auf der sie vielen alten Freunden und Feinden begegnen.
