Matsubara ist ein Einzelgänger. Frauen findet er toll, aber er kommt bei Gesprächen mit ihnen irgendwie nicht ganz mit. Darum findet er es nicht schlimm, dass er alleine in den Bergen wohnt. Eines Tages beobachtet er seinen Kollegen Kariya bei einem Kuss mit einem Mann. Dieser bittet ihn, das für sich zu behalten – zu sehr fürchtet er sich vor Repressalien seitens der Kollegen. Als Kariya kurz darauf bei ihm im Wohnheim einzieht, findet er das aber schon seltsam.
