im Jahre 196 After Colony (A.C.), ein Jahr nach dem Krieg, schicken vier Gundampiloten ihre Gundams Richtung Sonne.

Ausgerechnet am Weihnachtsabend beginnt die Barton Foundation aktiv zu werden und der erklärt der Earth Sphere Unified Nation (U.E.S.N.) den Krieg. Gleichzeitig wird Relena Darlian entführt. Der erst junge und zerbrechliche Frieden von Erde und Kolonien wird auf die Probe gestellt. Während Quatre versucht die Gundams zurückzuholen, stehen sich Heero und Duo einstigen Kameraden als Feind gegenüber.
Ein neues Schlachtfeld ist eröffnet.
