Akumetsu (2003)

Japan in the near future: Corruption and bad speculation have driven the country to ruin. The population is heavily in debt, but politicians and businessmen still live in luxury in the midst of this crisis and exploit their country. This is also felt by the schoolgirl Shiina Nagasawa. When her parents run into financial difficulties, she has no choice but to be sold as a prostitute to the social elite, where she is forced to take part in their orgies. But at one of these meetings, everything seems to change when a young man who calls himself Akumetsu and wears a mask appears. Shiina immediately recognises her classmate Shou under the mask.

He brutally reveals his views on justice to the elite and begins to take vigilante action against those who are to blame for the crisis, oppress the population or stand in the way of the country’s economic recovery. In the process, Akumetsu keeps a dark secret …

Japan in naher Zukunft: Korruption und Fehlspekulationen haben das Land in den Ruin getrieben. Die Bevölkerung ist hoch verschuldet, doch Politiker und Geschäftsleute leben inmitten dieser Krise immer noch in Luxus und beuten ihr Land aus. Dies bekommt auch die Schülerin Shiina Nagasawa zu spüren, als ihre Eltern in Geldnot geraten, bleibt ihr nichts anderes übrig, als sich als Prostituierte an die gesellschaftliche Elite verkaufen zu lassen, wo sie gezwungen ist, an deren Orgien teilzunehmen. Doch bei einem dieser Treffen scheint sich alles zu ändern, als ein junger Mann, der sich selbst Akumetsu nennt und eine Maske trägt, auftaucht. Shiina erkennt sofort ihren Klassenkameraden Shou unter der Maske.

Auf brutale Art und Weise gibt er der Elite seine Ansichten über Gerechtigkeit preis und beginnt, Selbstjustiz an jenen zu üben, die Schuld an der Krise haben, die Bevölkerung unterdrücken oder der wirtschaftlichen Erholung des Landes im Wege sind. Dabei hütet Akumetsu ein dunkles Geheimnis …

Il Giappone moderno è sprofondato in un pandemonio di corruzione, recessione economica, nepotismo e degrado morale. Questo squallido panorama sociale sembra non avere speranze; i pochi decisi a cambiare le cose possono solo limitare i danni, senza grandi successi. L’unica soluzione sarebbe quella di eliminare il male alla radice, ma solo un’entità immortale ed estremamente determinata potrebbe ambire a tale progetto. Eppure, qualcuno sembra deciso ad attuare una svolta epocale: un eroe mascherato che non ha paura di niente, soprattuto non teme la morte. Un eroe deciso a dare il "buon esempio" attraverso azioni esemplari, estremamente violente, impietose, ciniche e crudeli. Un diavolo pronto a giudicare e a spazzare via la sozzura del mondo, un giudice infernale senza mezzi termini: il suo nome è Akumetsu!
