Yoshio is an unsuccessful thirty-year-old man who hardly ever leaves his home. One day, he receives a mysterious package containing the computer game “The Village Of Fate”. Yoshio is thrilled by the artwork, and although he has never heard of the game before, he soon spends a lot of time in the virtual world where he, as the god of fate, can control the lives of the villagers through prophecies. Since this life is completely different from his real existence, Yoshio enjoys being worshipped by the villagers, and they, in turn, are happy to receive divine support in their hard everyday lives. This blurs the line between reality and virtual events as Yoshio is drawn deeper and deeper into the game.

Yoshio ist ein erfolgloser, dreißigjähriger Mann, der so gut wie nie sein Zuhause verlässt. Eines Tages erhält er ein mysteriöses Paket, in dem sich das Computerspiel »The Village Of Fate« befindet. Yoshio ist begeistert von dem Artwork und obwohl er von dem Spiel zuvor noch nie etwas gehört hat, verbringt er bald viel Zeit in der virtuellen Welt, in der er als Schicksalsgott das Leben der Dorfbewohner durch Prophezeiungen steuern kann. Da dieses Leben völlig anders ist, als seine reale Existenz, genießt Yoshio es, von den Dorfbewohnern verehrt zu werden, und diese wiederum sind froh, göttliche Unterstützung in ihrem harten Alltag zu erhalten. Dadurch verschwimmt die Grenze zwischen Realität und virtuellen Geschehnissen, während Yoshio immer tiefer in das Spiel hineingezogen wird.
